Blog update

While I created this blog in 2010, I have not updated the videos because AIM methodology remains consistent throughout the years (although the resources keep on getting better and better!). I continue to use, and will always use AIM. After 30 years of teaching Core French, I am convinced that this is the best way to teach a second language. Once you try it, you cannot conceive of teaching any other way. I welcome visitors to my class. Please contact me to set up a visit.

Day 72

It has been a while since I have posted a new video. Well, here it is, Day 72. We are re-organizing our groups since it is a new month.

Practicing gestures

This is a clip of the boys practicing their gestures in class.

You can hear that it's noisy in the classroom and the boys are all speaking in French. Every now and then I hear English and I send them to the door to cross "La ligne magique".

Day 55

We have learned a new Entry Routine.

On a different note, why is it that my students always have to go to the bathroom or drink water at the beginning of French class? I normally try to be patient as it's a great opportunity for them to learn how to ask these two important questions but today I lose my patience somewhat:

We try a new activity today. I am introducing a list of words for the first time (we learned the gestures but haven't seen the words yet). I ask my students to
- fais l'action
- donne une phrase avec le mot

They LOVED this activity! (probably bcz they won 10 group points for each correct sentence).

It was a fun class!

Day 45

I didn't film the Entry Routine today because we are still doing the "Poule Maboule" Entry routine raps. I'll try changing it for the next filming.

Here is part of my lesson today:
